Artists Applications to Hart Gallery
Is you application appropriate?
We get a very large number of unsolicited applications to exhibit at Hart Gallery. Many of these applications are completely inappropriate.
Please make sure that your work is compatible with Hart Gallery. Like many galleries we have a “vision” of the type of work that interests us and interests our clients. This should be apparent from viewing the website and visiting our exhibitions.
How to apply
If you feel your work would fit in at Hart Gallery you should first of all know that our exhibition timetable is very crowded, that we work with artists on an ongoing basis with a view to developing their careers. Commitments to our existing artists are considerable. Therefore we have very few opportunities for new artist.
That said we do look at appropriate work and occasionally but infrequently take on new artists.
Please do not expect to make an appointment or be seen in person in the first instance. We are well aware that most art looks better than it looks in reproduction but we really do not have the time to see everyone and need to have a filtering process first.
You can send images by email or by post.
Due to the number of applications we receive you will only receive a reply if we are interested in taking things further.
Do not send emails with high resolution images – they are not needed.
You only need to send about 6 images
