Lewis Noble spent a year working with Chatsworth making a body of workin response to the Chatsworth Estate. This unique event took place throughout 2008 - 2009 and culminated in a major exhibition at Hart Gallery, London in May 2009. The exhibition was also previewed at Chatsworth, starting on 11th March 2009 and continued throughout April.

Chatsworth House is the world famous home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. The first house was built by Bess of Hardwick and her second husband William Cavendish in the sixteenth century. The house is set in the heart of The Peak District National Park and is surrounded on one side by the White (limestone) Peak and to the North by the moors of the Dark (gritstone) Peak. The house and its art collection, as well as the extensive gardens and countryside beyond, are jewels of our cultural heritage and a visit is highly recommended. In autumn, Sothebys are installing a major sculpture exhibition in the gardens.
